With all of the recent excitement surrounding British Superbike Champion Tommy Bridewell’s transfer to the Halsall Racing Squad, it’s of little surprise that sales have surged in both the motorcycle leathers and helmet industries.
Bridewell has had quite a turbulent time during his riding career, and restarted racing in the British Superbike Championship in 2009 following the tragic death of his brother Ollie, another motorcycle racing champion.
Prior to the transfer, rumours had been circulating of possibly uncertainty in the Bathams team, speculated further after Bridewell failed to finish a race during the Knockhill round. The remainder of the MCN season has seen Bridewell race alongside Grand Prix contender Lee Costello, further strengthening the Kawasaki-led team.
Replicas of motorbike helmets worn by both Costello and Bridewell are becoming a popular request at North East motorcycle clothing store Proto Leathers, who have been inundated with demand for ‘celebrity style’ bike attire.
Amongst their collection of motorcycle clothing and accessories is the relatively new-to-market RKSports range, which is already proving a hit amongst riders across the UK. As part of their summer sale, Proto Leathers have discounted an abundance of leather trousers, motorcycle helmets and jackets, including Alpinestar motorcycle suits and Nitro helmets.
